Why I Love These Chicken Pinwheels
These puff pastry chicken pinwheels are one of those easy recipes that are perfect for busy mornings. You can prepare the filling ahead of time, and they’re a great option when you have leftover cooked chicken in the fridge.
They’re also easy for little hands to pick up and eat, making them a convenient option for a school lunchbox or snack.
Can I Make Chicken Pinwheels Ahead of Time?
Yes! You can prepare the pinwheels ahead of time and store them in the refrigerator before cooking. This can make school mornings a little easier.
If you have leftovers, allow them to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat until warmed through before serving.
Can I Use Different Fillings?
Absolutely. These pinwheels are easy to customise. You can try adding vegetables such as finely chopped capsicum or corn, or swap the cheese for another variety your child enjoys.
Just avoid adding too much filling, as this can make the pastry difficult to roll and may cause the pinwheels to fall apart during cooking.
Easy School Lunchbox Idea
I love keeping lunchboxes simple. You don’t need to make something completely different every day — combining one homemade item with a few fresh and crunchy sides can make a lunchbox both easy and enjoyable.
These chicken and cheese pinwheels for kids are a great option to add to your school lunchbox rotation.
